THE WEEKEND RESEARCH EDITION | SEPTEMBER 2026
OTCQB: | ![]() |
What if tomorrow's Nasdaq story is trading one level below?
Most investors start looking after the headline arrives. After the bell rings. After the ticker is on Nasdaq. This edition starts one step earlier.
THE IDEA Find the transition before it becomes obvious. Three OTCQB names. Three very different market stories. |
FCCN | XERI | CCMCF
Research edition. Educational information only. OTC securities can be volatile and illiquid.
Market data through Sep. 24, 2026 unless stated otherwise.
01 / THE STORY MOST INVESTORS | ![]() |
The interesting part may happen before the Nasdaq headline.
Picture the moment everybody notices a company: the Nasdaq listing is announced, the ticker appears on more screens, coverage expands and a larger audience suddenly knows the name. It feels like the beginning.
But for the company, it is often not the beginning at all. The reporting work, governance changes, market preparation, shareholder structure, trading history and application process may have been developing for months - sometimes much longer.
That is where OTCQB becomes interesting. Not because every OTCQB company is destined for Nasdaq. Most are not. The opportunity is that OTCQB can give investors a public window into a company while that transition is still being built.
THE QUESTION CHANGES. Not: “Which OTC stock is cheap?” But: “Which company is becoming something bigger?” |
The edge is not lower price. The edge is earlier observation. |
02 / THE STAIRCASE THE STAIRCASE | ![]() |
OTCQB can be a stage - not a destination.
PRIVATEBuild the company | OTCQBProve it publicly | NASDAQCompete on a bigger stage |
Conceptual stages, not a guaranteed route. Listing standards still apply.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Nasdaq explicitly allows companies trading over the counter to apply for the Nasdaq Capital Market, but they still have to satisfy the exchange's listing standards. Those standards cover share price, public holders, market makers, public float, trading activity and one of several financial tests, plus governance and disclosure requirements.
That makes the pre-listing period useful. You can watch whether a company is actually moving through the process - or merely talking about it.

03 / THREE NAMES THREE STOCKS. | ![]() |
This is where the story stops being theoretical.
The performer: a large move has already happened while FCCN remains on OTCQB. |
The steady grower: positive 12-month performance, but still far below Spectral's move. |
The emerging name: a positive 12-month move that keeps the story interesting without looking overheated. |
FCCN May comparison uses The Investor Call tracked reference of $2.04. XERI and CCMCF use published trailing 1-year performance figures.
Different lookback periods: FCCN is May to Sep. 24; XERI and CCMCF are trailing 1-year observations. The returns are not an equal-period ranking.
04 / THE PERFORMER SPECTRAL SHOWS | ![]() |
The market can move before the exchange changes.

Spectral is not interesting here because OTCQB is somehow magical. It is interesting because the stock has already been repriced dramatically while the company is still quoted on OTCQB.
The September 18 S-1/A states that Spectral has applied to list FCCN on the Nasdaq Capital Market. Approval is not assured. But this is exactly the sequence we are studying: first the public-market development, then the potential exchange transition.

THE CONTRAST XERI and CCMCF show a quieter kind of growth.Xeriant has shown about 19% growth over the trailing year, while Core Critical Metals has gained about 17.7%. Neither has produced anything close to Spectral's move - and that is exactly why they improve the comparison. They show that positive OTCQB performance can exist at very different speeds. We are not presenting either company as a confirmed Nasdaq applicant; they belong here as examples of OTCQB names building market attention before any national-exchange story is established. |

05 / THE INVESTOR CALL VIEW THE KINGMAKER | ![]() |
OTCQB is where some stories can still be early.
The lesson is not “buy OTC.” The lesson is to stop treating every OTCQB company as if it belongs in the same box. Some are simply small public companies. Some will remain there. Some will fail. And a small number may be preparing for a much larger market stage.
That is the group worth studying. Not after the Nasdaq headline. Before it. When the filings are appearing, the listing requirements are being addressed, the market is still thin and the broader investor audience has not necessarily arrived.
EVERYONE WANTS THE NEXT BIG NASDAQ STOCK. Maybe the smarter search starts one step earlier. OTCQB: watch the transition. |
FCCN has already shown what a strong repricing can look like while still on OTCQB. XERI and CCMCF show a more measured path: roughly 19% and 17.7% trailing one-year growth. Different speeds, same reason to pay closer attention to OTCQB.
